Celebrate America Runs on Women's one-year anniversary with a two-act sketch revue that includes new never-seen-before sketches and includes some of our favorites over the past year. Can you believe America is still running on women and that we're still not sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts?
We've performed to sold-out audiences at Clash on Clark and in the Blackout Cabaret at Second City - and we can't wait to perform at Annoyance on the mainstage to celebrate three hundred sixty-five days around the sun. (Well, if we're being exact - 369 days since our opening night of our first sketch revue at Clash on Clark on July 8, 2023. We're nothing if not honest.)
America (Still) Runs on Women
Show Program - Cast & Creative Team
Ashley G. Robbins
Ashley G. Robbins (she/her) is a person in Chicago! She enjoys long walks, recycling, and thinks sharks get a bad rap. Credits include that time she ran past a SpeedOMeter and it said 39 mph, no joke! When not doing work from money you could probably find her by the lake or on the CTA red line disassociating.
Aubree Thelen
Aubree Thelen (she/her) is a Chicago-based comedian who moonlights as a public health professional. When she’s not trying to discuss chronic diseases and the many ways you could die, she can be found cuddling her dog, Stella, who is the certified most perfect big-headed baby gurl ever. She will not be taking criticism of that claim and for receipts follow @aubreerosette. She hosts a biweekly standup show in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago focused on highlighting women and queer comics and hopes to make you laugh because it makes this rough life a tiny bit more bearable.
Charlsie Bastian
Charlsie Bastian (she/her) has hoes* in different area codes** and loves them all equally. She's a writer by choice and a 9-5er by her incessant need to buy useless shit. Mother to three sons (of the orange cat variety), Charlsie believes her biggest life accomplishments so far are overcoming her fear of matches, organizing the books in her apartment by color, and writing this bio without crying. *certificates of completion**from every comedy training center in Chicago
Elizabeth Fulton
Elizabeth Fulton (she/her) is an award-winning writer, director, producer - and a breakfast sandwich connoisseur. She is a faculty member at the Second City Training Center and a graduate of Second City Training Center's writing and conservatory programs. You can find her around town producing, writing, and directing shows like America Runs on Women, Deep Dishin', Intentional Dimension, Eight Drinks Minimum, Season One... and she's honored to add Christmas Karen 3 to that list. Elizabeth is bad at remembering what to include in her bio, so you can find out what she missed by following her on Instagram @elizahhhhhhope - 6 h's because 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 were taken.
Hannah Perez
Hannah Perez (she/her) is an actor/writer based in Chicago. She can be seen performing with Improvised Jane Austen, Improvised Fairytales (Annoyance), Malarkey's Two Birds One Scone, and indie team Lung Switch (iO). She also writes/performs/directs/produces for Lake Effect (Gold Comedy Digital Team). Some of her other favorite performance credits include Vice Principals (HBO) and playing Allison in the parody musical Pocus Hocus: A Virgin's Revenge. She kindly asks America to stop running on her. She needs a break.
Maddy Casale
Maddy Casale (she/her) is a writer-performer with a passion for crossword puzzles, cake, and the pursuit of recreational athletics. Outside of this show, you can catch her around Chicago writing and performing sketches with Cold Pizza Comedy. She's thrilled to be a part of America Runs on Women and to have gotten the chance to work with this amazing group of ladies!
Rae Lauren Wagner
Rae Lauren Wagner (she/her) is ecstatic to not only be a woman, but to have America run on her. Truly a next level achievement. Outside of that, Rae pays the bills as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor and spends the bills on vodka and her Costco membership. She wants to thank her family and friends for their support and hopes you enjoy the show!
Shelby Deutsch
Shelby Deutsch (she/her) is a human woman who was born from a human woman, Julie, in the magical state of Colorado in 1997. Shelby received a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Outdoor Leadership while minoring in Art and Spanish. She moved to She-cago in January of 2020 to play pretend with other adults. Since moving, she has had the opportunity to play pretend all over the city, but she truly loves doing sketch comedy. Shelby has a little baby woman cat named Cleo and is currently on her period.
