About the Course:

Holding Your Own is a two-week improv workshop designed to help performers amplify their unique voices and command the stage with confidence. Led by Madelyn Murphy — co-founder of High Stakes Productions (Clued In, Hitch*Cocktails), and the nationally touring off-Broadway production Twenty-Sided Tavern — this class draws on years of experience in immersive, genre-driven storytelling where every moment is high stakes.

Through character work, status play, and scene navigation, students will learn practical tools to stay grounded, flip power dynamics, and transform stereotypes into bold, memorable characters. With a focus on inclusivity and fearless play, Maddie creates a supportive, high-energy environment where improvisers strengthen their individuality and leave ready to own any stage unapologetically themselves. Holding Your Own isn’t about fitting a mold: it’s about amplifying what only you can bring to the stage. The goal: fearless, unapologetic performances that no one else could create. You're talented - show 'em what you've got!
