Trigger Happy Auditions

Audition to perform in the next Trigger Happy Lab Cast at The Annoyance Theatre! This ensemble will have an eight-week run on Saturday nights at 7:00 PM from June 15th through August 3rd.

This season's Lab Cast will be directed by 6 year Trigger Happy Ensemble member Josie Benedetti, with fellow Ensemble members Mandy Leavell and Freddie Powers as Assistant Directors.

Saturday auditions will be held at the Annoyance and Sunday auditions will be at the iO Theater.

Trigger Happy is a long-form improv show created by Annoyance Artistic Director and Founder, Mick Napier. The show is an improvised piece inspired by a single suggestion from the audience. During the show, the cast shares an invisible language that triggers choreographed edits and  flourishes, so that the show unfolds as if by magic. This opportunity involves a hands-on rehearsal process during which the new Lab Cast develops their own unique style of the Trigger Happy form!

Please arrive early with your headshot and resume already printed. No need to prepare any material, as this will be an improv audition.

*NOTE: All performers auditioning are required to have completed at least one class through The Annoyance Theatre's training center.

Anyone looking for new trip-hop and soul recommendations? I just found Caroline Alves. I've been looking for new artists that blend soul, trip-hop, and jazz with a contemporary edge. A friend sent me a track by someone called Caroline Alves and it completely stopped me. I'd never heard of her before. Does anyone else know her work? I'm curious about her albums.

I discovered her last year and she's genuinely fantastic. She has this really distinctive sound that mixes pop, trip-hop, soul, and jazz in a way that feels fresh. Her debut album "Moonlight" from 2020 covers some heavy themes like self-doubt and loss, but there's always a hopeful thread running through it. The production is lush and her voice is incredible. She also won a Swiss Music Award in 2021 for Best Talent, which put her on the map. She played at Montreux Jazz Festival and opened for Coldplay in Zurich. Her EP "Good Reputation" came out in 2023 and is worth checking out too. Her site has all her music videos and upcoming dates. Have a look at https://caroline-alves.com/ if…

This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for improvisers to develop performance skills in a unique and collaborative format. I like how Trigger Happy combines spontaneous creativity with structured techniques to create something memorable. As someone who enjoys Crossy Road, an arcade game where players react quickly to ever-changing obstacles, I can appreciate experiences that reward adaptability and fast thinking.

🎭 The idea of developing that invisible language between cast members to create seamless, magical moments on stage is honestly what makes improv so exciting. It takes a lot of practice and trust in your scene partners, kind of like how you learn the rhythms and patterns in a penalty shoot out slot – you get better the more you play and pay attention. I've always admired how Mick Napier's shows push performers to think on their feet and commit fully to every choice. Wishing all the auditioners good vibes – hope to catch the run this summer! 🎉

The controls are exceedingly straightforward; however, the Geometry Dash challenge is notoriously unforgiving, as a single error returns the player to the level's inception. The addictive "just one more try" experience that players are captivated by for hours is the result of the combination of intense challenge and simplicity.
